Taekwondo for children teaches kids self-control and endurance, and unique techniques can neutralize the enemy with one blow.

At what age to send a child in taekwondo
The section accepts children from 6 years. At such a young age, children can take WTF (Taekwondo Federation Version) classes. A peculiarity of this variety is a ban on blows with hands. Kicks can only be applied to the body. The ITF (a version of the International Taekwondo Federation) accepts children from 8 years old. In this discipline punches and kicks are allowed both with legs and hands. It is allowed to hit any part of the body including the opponent’s head.

Despite the fact that taekwondo is considered one of the most traumatic sports, sports injuries among children are extremely rare. The thing is that young athletes are taught not only techniques, but also how to avoid injury and not to cause serious damage to the opponent. All blows in this sport are performed tangentially, which reduces the risk of serious injuries.
